July 24th, 2006 - (Atlanta, GA) Charlotte Embry, of Raytown, MO is the grand prize winner of Kraft’s Third Annual Gospel Talent Search, a nationwide competition showcasing the best undiscovered gospel talent in America. Charlotte received $25,000, an opportunity to open for the Grammy Award-winning gospel duo Mary Mary, and got to share the stage with some of the biggest names in gospel during the MegaFest closing concert on July 22nd at the Georgia Dome.

“I think being a part of the Third Annual Kraft Gospel Talent Search will definitely be a life-altering experience,” said Charlotte. “I never thought I would have a chance to perform for so many people, including some of my favorite gospel artists, and I’m grateful to Kraft for providing this incredible opportunity.”

Ten finalists competed at the Georgia World Conference Center during MegaFest 2006 in Atlanta. The Kraft Gospel Talent Search was hosted by gospel singer Byron Cage and Myra J of the Tom Joyner Morning Show. The competition’s judges --- gospel recording artists, Mary Mary; Dr. Teresa Hairston, Founder and CEO of Gospel Today Magazine; Tara Griggs-Magee, Executive Vice President of Sony Music Entertainment; and Kim Drayton, Project Director for Metroplex Economic Development Corporation -- partnered with Kraft Foods to evaluate and encourage these aspiring gospel artists.

"Joining forces with MegaFest made this a particularly exciting year for the Kraft Gospel Talent Search, and each participant showed an incredible amount of talent – making the competition tougher than ever,” said Yolanda Angulo, Director of Multicultural Marketing, Kraft Foods. “Kraft applauds the hard work, spirit, and talent of our winner, the finalists, and all who entered submissions and voted in this year’s competition.”

Finalists for the Third Annual Kraft Gospel Talent Search included: Tawanna Campbell of Little Rock, Arkansas; Charlotte Elaine Embry of Raytown, Missouri; Latrece Goree of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Latisha Lynn Haynes of St. Louis, Missouri; Patricia Mathison of Louisville, Kentucky; Douglas McHenry of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Marva Mortley of Brooklyn, New York; Sonya Newson of Arlington, Texas; Raychell Richard of Gretna, Louisiana; and Angela Wells of Dickinson, Texas.

The grand prize winner of the Second Annual Kraft Gospel Talent Search (2005), Angela Blair, has had an eventful year following her win. An independent artist, Blair just released her new CD, “A Time for Love” and recently performed during the 2006 Essence Music Festival in Houston. Additionally, Blair has partnered with fitness guru Donna Richardson-Joyner to perform for her new fitness DVD, “Sweating in the Spirit II.”
