GLORY FOODS BOARD MEMBERS HONORED FOR EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS BY NEW YORK WOMEN’S CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

COLUMBUS, OHIO – May 2006 -- At the 2006 New York Women of Excellence Award ceremony fundraiser luncheon, held at New York’s Tavern on the Green, Glory Foods Board Members, Elizabeth (Betty) Williams, and Joan Henley, (the widows of Glory Foods co-founders, William F. (Bill) Williams and Garth Henley), were among a powerful group of women honored for their social, political and business achievements.

Women honored included, fashion designer, Carolina Herrera, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, and Josie J. Thomas, Senior VP of Diversity for CBS. Ambassador Andrew Young was the lone male who received the distinguished Gentleman of Quality (GQ) Award. “This award honors all of us who are about the business of building businesses,” said Williams. “This award not only honors me, it honors Glory Foods vision for achieving excellence in the food industry, and as a board member I will continue to nourish, and promote this reality.”

The awards were given in recognition of those women who have made a positive impact in our society and have excelled in the areas of women’s economic development, leadership, advocacy, business and social or community services. In addition to serving on Glory’s board, both women co-own the Williams-Henley Real Estate Development Company in Columbus, Ohio. “New York is an important market for Glory Foods, and we want to build alliances that demonstrate our commitment to community growth and expansion,” adds Henley.
