(BPRW) AND THE WINNER IS…The Search for Tavis Smiley’s Replacement on The Tom Joyner Morning Show Is Complete

Tomorrow Tom Joyner announces that both Jeff Johnson and Stephanie Robinson have been chosen to offer weekly political commentary on the show

(BLACK PR WIRE) (Dallas, TX – September 11, 2008) – Tomorrow Tom Joyner Morning Show listeners will finally hear Joyner announce that the search for “The Commentator” is over, and in a surprising twist, the weekly spot will go to two personalities, Jeff Johnson, special TV host on Black Entertainment Television and Stephanie Robinson, president and CEO of the Jamestown Project. The two winners will now be heard every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:17am EST, starting this Tuesday, September 16th.

Johnson and Robinson will be replacing the treasured friend of the morning show, Tavis Smiley, who presented commentaries every Tuesday and Thursday for the last twelve years. The final choice was impacted by votes tallied from BlackAmericaWeb.com and critical analysis from dignitaries and respected friends of the morning show including Roland Martin, Gayle King, Soledad O’Brien, Michel Martin, Susan L. Taylor, Marc Morial, Elder Bernice King, Jesse Jackson Jr., and Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

“The Commentator” was an eight week long oratory presentation from up and coming leaders in the African American academic, news, and entertainment communities that included blogger Faye Anderson; Eddie Glaude Jr., Princeton University professor; Van Jones, founder of Green For All; president and CEO of the Jamestown Project; Dr. Reiland Rabaka of the University of Colorado at Boulder; Anthony Samad, columnist and community activist; and talk radio show host Warren Ballentine.

The morning show can be heard on a local Tom Joyner Morning Show affiliate station or online at BlackAmericaWeb.com (http://www.blackamericaweb.com).
