(BPRW) CORPS OF ENGINEERS AND PARTNERS UNVEIL A NEW PUBLIC SERVICE CAMPAIGN
- Event set for Wednesday, Dec. 16 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -
The unveiling ceremony takes place during a press conference Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the USDA Invasive Plant Research Laboratory, located at 3225 College Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Florida Outdoor Advertising Association is donating billboard space throughout the state for the campaign.
“This public service campaign is designed to increase awareness of invasive species that threaten the Everglades and Everglades restoration,” says Nanciann Regalado, strategic communication and outreach program manager for the Corps. “When it comes to invasive species, our overarching goal is to encourage prevention by telling the public: Don’t Let it Loose!”
Highlights of the press conference include remarks by Stu Appelbaum, deputy for Restoration Program Management and Chief of Everglades Division for the Corps of Engineers; Dan Kimball, superintendent of Everglades National Park; Chuck Collins, regional director Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; and Paul Souza, field supervisor, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
