(BPRW) Andy Garcia Family Drama, Anchor Bay’s City Island Set for Gusman Gala Premiere March 12 at the Miami International Film Festival
- The Oscar and Emmy nominee and Miami resident will walk the Red Carpet at the historic Gusman Center for the Performing Arts with his daughter and co-star, Dominik García-Lorido -
Born in Havana, Garcia’s family left Cuba and settled in Miami when he was 5 years old. He attended both Miami Dade College and Florida International University, where he studied acting before launching his celebrated acting career. He earned a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination in 1991 for The Godfather: Part III and multiple Emmy nominations in 2001 for the HBO Films drama For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story. A longtime friend and supporter of the Miami International Film Festival, Garcia has screened several of his films at the festival in recent years: Cachao: Uno Más (MIFF 2009), The Lost City (MIFF 2006) and Modigliani (MIFF 2005).
