(BPRW) Anti-Bullying Advocate Jonathan Spikes Hosts Fort Lauderdale Book Signing Party

- Meet the Author of "I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me," the scintillating story of Damon McBlessed, a young man constantly at war with himself -

(BLACK PR WIRE) – Miami, Florida – May 9, 2012 – South Florida native son, Jonathan Spikes, will read from his powerful new novel, "I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me" during a book signing party Wednesday, May 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Spikes is a multi-talented writer and respected youth advocate who speaks to the core of readers. “I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me" is the story of Damon McBlessed, a young man who is constantly at war with himself as he attempts to define who he is, not only to himself, but to God, his family, and his culture.

Reared in Miami, Florida for most of his life, Jonathan Spikes has had the opportunity to experience many things both positive and challenging helping him to define his own way and chart his own course. This young novelist, entrepreneur and former corporate trainer, is expanding his wings and flying to new heights with his first literary work of art. "I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me" is loosely based on personal events and encounters that Jonathan has experienced. Even in the most difficult situations, he’s discovered that love always abounds.

The title “I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me” is inspired by his son Jamari who was playing with his playmates when they got into a name-calling match. Jamari told his playmate “I Know What I Am And I Am Not What You Call Me.” What powerful words from the mouth of babes.
