(BLACK PR WIRE) – The City of Miami Gardens will host the third Annual Science and Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. This culminating event is from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL. Nationally-renown radio personality, Rodney Baltimore of WHQT HOT 105 radio station, is the Master of Ceremonies.

“During the Awards Ceremony, we will provide awards to the winners, and highlight the exceptional science projects from nearly 100 children right here in the City of Miami Gardens,” says Councilman David Williams Jr. “Students from participating schools held their own competition and the top five scoring projects at the school level have been automatically entered into the City of Miami Gardens Science and Engineering Fair for judging and ranking at the Citywide level. In addition, there will be cash prizes to the students that placed 1st through 10th, and there will be plenty of recognition going around to their parents and teachers as well. We are delighted that Mr. Baltimore will be joining us this year, and we know it will be a night filled with special presentations, fun awards, a laser show, and much more.”

Rodney Baltimore is the Executive Producer and Co-Host of the Tom Joyner Morning Show, which is broadcast on WQHT HOT 105. Rodney is an industry veteran having worked at, among other stations, WRBD, WOKB and HOT 105’s sister station, 99 JAMZ. Rodney is a true community activist, for and ‘about’ the people. The Science and Engineering Fair is the brain trust of Councilman David Williams Jr., Seat 5. It has become one of the City of Miami Gardens’ beacon projects in the community, and it is taking off in leaps and bounds with measurable progress and exceptional success. Students participating from the Innovative Beginnings in Science (IBIS) Programs include: Golden Glades Elementary School, Crestview Elementary School, Scott Lake Elementary School, Rainbow Park Elementary School, Parkview Elementary School, Carol City Elementary School, Hibiscus Elementary School, Barbara Hawkins Elementary School, and Carol City High School.
