(BPRW) Jessie Trice Community Health Center Launches a "Healthy Meme, Healthy Me" Social Media Challenge

- Part of their National Health Center Week's Activities-

(Black PR Wire) Do you consider yourself to be clever and creative? Want to take part in a fun and healthy challenge and show off your savvy social media skills? Join the Jessie Trice Community Health Center (JTCHC) and take the “Healthy Meme, Healthy Me” Challenge! JTCHC has launched the challenge as part of the activities in recognition of National Health Center Week, observed August 9-15, 2015. The winner of the challenge receives a 39” LED HDTV!

“National Health Center Week is the ideal time to encourage our communities to focus on their health,” said Annie Neasman, RN, MS, president/CEO of the Jessie Trice Community Health Center. “Our Healthy Meme, Healthy Me” Challenge is a fun and creative way for residents to show off their healthy habits and behaviors.”

Entering the Challenge is fast, fun, simple and free! Participants will need to create a cleaver meme. A meme (/’mi’m/ meem) is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture. A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme.

Creating and submitting the meme involves a four-step process.
1. Snap a photo (or photos) of yourself or an object that shows what you are doing to be healthy this summer.
2. Upload your photo(s) to the favorite photo editing app to start your layout.
3. Place a clever caption on your layout.
4. Save your meme and send it to pr@sonshine.com.

Once received, the image will be vetted and placed on the JTCHC social media pages. Participants can also upload it to their Facebook account using hashtag #JTCHCHealthyMemeHealthyMe. From there, it will be captured and posted online.

Judging takes place on August 12th. The winner will be announced during a special event (attendance not required) and posted on the JTCHC social media sites.

National Health Center Week is designed to commemorate the importance of Health Centers and give supporters an opportunity to speak out for their health center; and the people and communities who rely on its services for healthy and productive lives.
