(BPRW) Jessie Trice Community Health Center's Dr. Jocelyn Lawrence Serves as Guest Speaker at University of Miami's Minority Health Month Meet and Greet

(Black PR Wire) Dr. Jocelyn Lawrence, Chief Medical Officer of the Jessie Trice Community Health Center recently served as guest speaker for the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine’s Minority Health Month meet and greet. Dr. Lawrence gave an address about the Black livelihood in Miami and the status of the community’s present health and needs.

The meet and greet, held in recognition of Minority Health Month was hosted by the Black Graduate Student Association and Student National Medical Association, cosponsored by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine. The event was organized by students to provide an opportunity for black students, faculty and administration on the medical campus to connect, network, and empower each other while learning more about the history of minority health in Miami.

The Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Inc. is a Florida 501(c)3, not-for-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center, which has been serving Miami-Dade County since 1967. A community mainstay, JTCHC owns and/or operates fifty-five (55) facilities, which includes nine (9) Comprehensive Primary Care centers, including a women’s substance use residential program, forty (40) school-based locations and two (2) university centers. JTCHC’s multicultural, multilingual, and multidisciplinary staff serves a diverse population of over 39,575 patients who make more than 126,000 visits annually.
