Eddie Robinson was recipient of Black Coaches Association Lifetime Achievement Award
The BCA Lifetime achievement award is presented to deserving coaches that have successfully coached for a minimum of twenty five (25) years in addition to a demonstrated commitment to excellence, diversity and inclusion and overall success with student athletes.
“Eddie Robinson is an icon to the coaching profession”, according to Floyd Keith, BCA Executive Director. “Coach Robinson mentored all who were directly associated with him; and was an inspiration to everyone who were not connected to him. Everyone respected Coach, regardless of their backgrounds.” said Keith.
Robinson was selected for the BCA Life Time Achievement award due to his reputation of the “Winningest” coach in college football with 408 victories compiled during a tenure that stretched from 1941 to 1997. He led squads to eight National Black College championships and fed more than 200 players to the National Football League. “He not only loved coaching student athletes, he prepared them for life beyond college” said Keith.
Coach Robinson remains an inspiration to all in the athletic industry as he has inspired many to achieve their goals and missions.
