(Black PR Wire) WHAT: Grand opening of the Comprehensive Primary Care Clinic at the John H. Peavy Health Center at Miami Northwestern Senior High School on Sat., Jan. 9. The celebration takes place on the school’s campus from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Guests can tour the new facility, meet the physicians and staff, receive health screenings and information, and hear from noted elected officials and community members.

WHY: The comprehensive primary care health clinic is a joint effort by Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Inc. (JTCHC), Florida International University (FIU) Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and The Children’s Trust to provide exceptional health care services to all in the neighboring community. A $1.45 million grant from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Resources permits the health center to provide access to care for families and children after school hours. Operated by JTCHC in partnership with the College, the clinic also serves as a training site for FIU nursing and health professions students.

WHEN: GRAND OPENING: Saturday, January 9, 2016 @ 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
MEDIA PREVIEW DAY: Friday, January 8 @ 10 a.m. – Noon* (*Advance notice is highly recommended to assist with access and parking on campus and facility entry)

WHO: Interview and photo opportunities with collaborators from Jessie Trice Community Health Center, FIU, Miami Northwestern, community leaders and residents in attendance.
