(BLACK PR WIRE) ( April 28, 2009) NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dr. Benjamin Chavis, President of Education Online Services Corporation (EOServe Corp.) announced today that an historic agreement and Memorandum of Understanding has been executed between Education Online Services Corp. and the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO).
Dr. Chavis emphasized, "Our ultimate goal is to directly assist Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other colleges across America with the latest innovations in online higher education. I personally know the importance of keeping HBCUs financially viable and strategically maintaining the best in academic educational opportunity. Working closely with Dr. Lezli Baskerville and NAFEO to help HBCUs will be our most effective national business model as our joint initiative directly targets financial and higher education empowerment."
Dr. Baskerville said, "NAFEO is delighted to work with Education Online Services to provide its members a cost effective, proven way of expanding their reach beyond their campuses, their traditional classroom and field learning experiences, to offer their current curriculum to thousands of students who want a degree from one of the Nation's venerable Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or from a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI), but for whom a campus-based experience is not optimal."
"We would like to express our gratitude and congratulations to NAFEO for consummating this historic educational partnership," said Ezell Brown, Chairman, EOServe Corp. "We have witnessed through our experience the tremendous positive impact of additional online revenue sources for traditional institutions of higher learning and we know that this opportunity will allow NAFEO member institutions to create increased revenue sources and generate millions of dollars over the next few years which will allow these institutions to achieve and sustain financial independence," added Chairman Brown.
Education Online Services Corp., the nation's premier online educational platform provider, will work together with NAFEO to make online degree programs and support services available to its 123 member institutions. The company has already started working with NAFEO member institution, Morris Brown College as the first HBCU to partner with EOServe Corp. to extend its reach and offer its students the opportunity to learn and obtain their degrees through EOServe Corp.'s online curriculum platform. EOServe Corp. is also providing MBC with support in marketing, recruiting, enrollment, retention, and financial aid for students.
As a sponsor of NAFEO's 35th Annual Conference, April 1-4, 2009, which had as its theme, "Ending the Cradle to Prison Pipeline, Establishing a Cradle to College Pathway," EOServe Corp. was honored to meet many NAFEO institution presidents, chancellors, provosts and deans and to discuss with them the unique challenges and opportunities of individual universities. The Company strongly believes that its robust online curriculum platform and marketing, recruitment and enrollment services can assist NAFEO and its member institutions to achieve their educational objectives and benefit their students and communities.
