Proceeds To Benefit NFL Youth Education Towns
( BLACK PR WIRE) ( January 21, 2010) FORT LAUDERDALE – Twenty-five members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame head the list of more than 60 celebrities who will participate in the Super Bowl XLIV NFL Charities Celebrity Bowling and Golf Classics. Amateur spots are available for both events.
The Fifth Annual NFL Charities/GoBowling.com Celebrity Bowling Classic will be held on Thursday, February 4 at SpareZ Lanes in Davie at 8:00 p.m. The event, sponsored by GoBowling.com, will team four amateur bowlers with a different celebrity, including current and former NFL players and members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Prizes will be awarded to members of the top three finishing teams. Prizes will be awarded to members of the top three finishing teams. Each bowler will also receive a commemorative Super Bowl XLIV bowling ball and pin and a gift bag of official Super Bowl apparel from Reebok.
Doral Golf Resort will play host to the 25th annual Super Bowl NFL Charities Celebrity Golf Classic on Saturday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. A celebrity captain will be assigned to each team of five of amateur golfers. The celebrity captains will include current and former NFL players, including members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The entry fee is a $1,500 donation to NFL Charities. Prizes will be awarded to members of the top three finishing teams following the team-scramble formatted tournament. All golfers will also receive a gift bag of official Super Bowl XLIV apparel from Reebok as well as a commemorative photo plaque.
Proceeds from both events will fund the NFL Youth Education Towns in South Florida. As its legacy to cities hosting Super Bowls, the NFL establishes these learning and recreational centers for at-risk youths.
