(BPRW) UPTOWN Magazine Expands into Detroit and Philadelphia Markets, Bringing Luxury, Lifestyle and Living to Affluent African Americans Nationwide

(BLACK PR WIRE) ( April 20, 2010) NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Uptown Magazine, the only luxury lifestyle publication for affluent African Americans, announced its expansion into the Philadelphia and Detroit markets, effective with the June/July 2010 issue. Philadelphia and Detroit were both selected based upon their status as cultural centers for the African American community.
 
Founded in 2004, Uptown Magazine delivers fashion, lifestyle, political and entertainment content specifically created for this previously hard to reach demographic.

As part of our continued growth plan, Uptown will expand into the Detroit and Philadelphia markets, both hotbeds of creativity in the affluent African American community, said Len Burnett, Co-CEO and group Publisher of Uptown Magazine. As my hometown, Detroit is special to me. 

Spearheading the sales and marketing efforts in Philadelphia will be The Brand Suites Phil Williams. Leading the sales team for Detroit will be Ignition Media Group.

In addition, Uptown Atlanta has retained Courtney Rhodes of Urbanity who will be coordinating UPTOWNs Community Outreach and Marketing efforts in the Atlanta area. 

Published bi-monthly, Uptown Magazine is currently available in a national edition as well as regional editions covering Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, NYC, Charlotte and Los Angeles. Detroit and Philadelphia editions will launch effective with the June/July issue.
