(BPRW) NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HEALTH SERVICES EXECUTIVES ANNUAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE CURRENTLY BEING HELD

(BLACK PR WIRE) – The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is hosting its Annual Education Conference from Wednesday, October 16 – Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown in Miami, Florida. There is still an opportunity to make your vow to attend now!

“The NAHSE Annual National Educational Conference is a must attend event which provides visibility and access to national healthcare executives,” said Christie Grays, President–Elect of the South Florida Chapter. “I encourage everyone to join us for this dynamic and powerful event!”

Grays shared that about 500 healthcare executives, mid-careerists and administrative residents are convening for the Conference. The Conference features local educational seminars offering Category II ACHE credits; local networking opportunities for enhancing your career; young careerist, mid-careerist and senior-executive forums; and the opportunity to receive pertinent up-to-date industry news on an ongoing basis.

Key upcoming highlights at the event will include a presentation by Ralph Lawson, CFO, on “Forces Demanding Change to U.S. Healthcare: How Will the ACA Really Work?” on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Presentations held earlier in the week were as follows:

Wednesday, October 16, 2013: Ricardo Forbes, Chief Diversity Officer/VP of Baptist Health South Florida spoke on “Journey to Cultural Competency: A Diversity & Inclusion Discussion” during a concurrent workshop.

Thursday, October 17, 2013: Christie Grays introduced the panelists for the Opening Session. The Opening Session topic was “Leading in the era of Accountable Care and the Affordable Care Act. Panelists included Gregory Adams, EVP/Regional President of Northern California for Kaiser Permanente; Eugene Woods, EVP/COO of CHRISTUS Health in Irving, TX and Dr. Patricia Maryland, President of Healthcare Operations/COO of Ascension Health.

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. Since its inception, NAHSE has sponsored and participated in local and national programs and projects designed to improve quality, access and availability to health services and to expand educational opportunities in the field of Health Services Administration.

NAHSE's purpose is to ensure greater participation of minority groups in the health field. Its basic objective is to develop and maintain a strong viable national body to more effectively have input in the national health care delivery system. It has provided a vehicle for Blacks to effectively participate in the design, direction and delivery of quality health care to all people.
