(BPRW) A Father Afraid for Future Generations Makes Film That Explains How to Heal from the Trauma of Being Black in America

Filmmaker Ron Elliott Jr. (aka Ron-O) enlists the help of thought leaders, mental health professionals, and community activists in this revolutionary film to help Black Families heal from Multigenerational Trauma.

 

(Black PR Wire) Detroit, MI – Writer and producer Ron “O” Elliott Jr. has secured the help of Emmy Award Winning Director Timashion Jones (A Life Remodeled) to make an inspiring film for Black America.

Die Willie Die is a documentary unlike any other soon to join the ranks of films like Ava Duvernay’s, 13th, James Baldwin’s, I Am Not Your Negro, and Stanley Nelson’s The Black Panther’s: Vanguard of the Revolution. The goal of the film is to help families identify and heal from multigenerational trauma. Die Willie Die is a film by the people for the people.

The film is in post-production and will screen exclusively online February 5, 2022, to celebrate the theme of Black History Month 2022 – “Black Health and Wellness”. Audiences will journey with Ron, a husband and father of four girls, as he seeks to save his family and yours from falling victim to the “Ghost of Willie Lynch,” the mythological slave owner written about in the book, The Willie Lynch Letter & The Making of a Slave.  

Ron seeks the help of experts to dissect the programming boasted in the book The Willie Lynch Letter & The Making of a Slave and encourages the audience to commit to healing from the traumas passed down from generation to generation. The film features Grammy-nominated activist and hip-hop artist Royce da 5’9”, David McCullar, owner of Inception, the 1st Mental Health Gym (As seen on The Breakfast Club (iHeart) and Tha God’s Honest Truth on Comedy Central), Mama Sōl (Brand Ambassador for the Detroit Pistons) and scored by Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Valdez Brantley.
