Visionaries like Berry Gordy Jr., who built Motown from the ground up, and Missy Elliot, whose innovative lyrics and productions have inspired sounds, exemplify this legacy. From legends like Aretha Franklin and Luther Vandross to today’s icons like Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar, Black musicians have constantly pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in music.
