(BPRW) YWCA Northern New Jersey Gearing Up for Its Walking the Talk Gala 2020

Announcing Our First Gala Honoree – Paula Ryder-Madison Event to be Hosted by WNBC's Pat Battle

(Black PR Wire) YWCA Northern New Jersey is proud to host its annual Walking the Talk Gala 2020, which is set for Thursday, April 23rd from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at Seasons in Washington Township, NJ.

This year’s guest host will once again be Pat Battle, Anchor, Weekend Today In New York/WNBC. The event will showcase some of today’s most accomplished community leaders and invites guests to eat, drink, dance, and celebrate the essential programs and services that YWCA Northern New Jersey supporters make possible to improve the lives of women, girls, and families.

We are proud to announce our first honoree, Paula Ryder-Madison, President, National Coalition of 100 Black Women Bergen/Passaic Chapter. As President, Paula leads the mission to advocate for black women and girls in the areas of health, education, economic empowerment, leadership, development and gender equinity.  Under Paula’s leadership, the Chapter was named a “National Model Chapter” two years running. Paula is a longtime public health advocate, and works professionally overseeing quality management for Envision Healthcare.  She was recognized by Senator Loretta Weinberg as one of the 2018 and 2019 Most Powerful Women in NJ. Paula serves on the board of Bergen County CASA, is a Commissioner for the Bergen County Commission on Women, and chair of the Outreach Ministry at Teaneck United Methodist Church.

“As a powerful voice for social justice, education and empowerment, Paula has been an invaluable partner," says YWCA Northern NJ CEO, Helen Archontou. “She has collaborated with us on initiatives to open doors for women of color personally and professionally, preventing sexual violence, and supporting survivors.  We appreciate all that Paula has done and continues to do around empowering women and girls of color to become leaders, working to end injustice and inequality in our communities.”
